Established in Johannesburg, South Africa in September 2011, CHINAFRICA Media and Publishing (Pty) Ltd. is an overseas entity of CICG Center for Europe and Africa administering its business in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is currently the only Chinese culture company in Africa with distribution and sales of print periodicals as its core business. It oversees the printing of the English Edition of ChinAfrica monthly, and sales and distribution of the magazine in the Southern African region. It provides the editorial board at the Beijing head office with reader-driven story ideas, and does on-site reporting and interviews on major events happening in Africa to produce stories from a uniquely Chinese perspective. Its functions also include establishing connection with readers, conducting surveys on readers and public opinions, inviting scholars and independent writers to contribute articles, as well as hosting activities with local business partners to promote its brand image.
