CICG head elected as president of TAC
The 8th National Congress of the Translators Association of China (TAC) took place in Beijing on April 1, during which a new leadership team was elected.
Du Zhanyuan, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), was elected as the head of TAC.

In his inaugural speech, Du said that, since its establishment 40 years ago, TAC has led the Chinese translation sector to introduce China to the world, and made great contributions to promoting mutual learning and cultural exchange, and facilitating international communication.
Du noted that, as China takes center stage in the world, the Chinese translation industry is standing at a new starting point. He added that, as the only national social organization in the field of translation, TAC is facing unprecedented development opportunities while shouldering more responsibilities.
The new TAC president called for further efforts to pool wisdom in the translation sector to help make China's voice better heard in the world.
