Chang Bo, president of CICG, said the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China marks an important milestone for "one country, two systems" and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
He said CICG would draw on its publishing resources and partnerships in Hong Kong and overseas to present the development and achievements of "one country, two systems," as well as China's development philosophy and proposals on global governance.
Chang outlined four priorities in strengthening international communication. First, CICG will strengthen the planning of major publishing projects, including those tied to occasions such as the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, while focusing more broadly on three areas: presenting Chinese modernization to international audiences, explaining China's four global initiatives on development, security, civilization, and governance, and exploring the contemporary relevance of Chinese civilization. Second, CICG will make its international communication more engaging and accessible across cultures, with greater emphasis on stories that resonate with readers. Third, it will accelerate digital transformation and reach audiences through a wider range of media and platforms. Fourth, CICG will deepen cooperation with overseas publishers, think tanks, and media organizations through joint content development, shared distribution channels, platforms, and branding.

The speakers drew on the experience of their respective organizations to discuss the localization of China-themed books, the development of an integrated international publishing ecosystem, and the role of digital and intelligent technologies in international publishing.
Representatives from publishing houses under CICG and the Peace Research Institute Hong Kong presented key publishing projects covering topics such as "one country, two systems," Chinese modernization, and traditional Chinese culture. The seminar was hosted by CICG, and organized by New Star Press and the Peace Research Institute Hong Kong.
