CICG executive attends premiere of China-Egypt documentary

On Aug. 19, Yu Yingfu, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), met with Chinese and foreign guests attending the Beijing premiere of"A Tale of Two Cities," a China-Egypt co-produced documentary on two port cities — Quanzhou in China and Alexandria in Egypt — along the Maritime Silk Road.

Among the guests were Ahmed Magdy Rashad, deputy ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to China, and Wang Zhong, director of the Fujian Provincial Radio and Television Administration.

Yu noted that both China and Egypt are ancient civilizations with increasingly in-depth exchanges and mutual learning. This documentary fully embodies and carries forward the spirit of the Silk Road. He said CICG stands ready to further deepen cooperation with all parties to jointly tell compelling stories about China and China-Egypt friendly cooperation.

Rashad passed on greetings from Egyptian Ambassador to China Khaled Nazmy. He also reviewed the achievements of China-Egypt ties since diplomatic relations were established, which have grown into a comprehensive strategic partnership, voicing hope that the release of the documentary would further strengthen people-to-people bonds.

Wang thanked CICG for its long-term support for Fujian's international communication. He expressed anticipation for further expanded multi-field cooperation between Fujian province and CICG.

The documentary is supported by the 3rd edition of the"Image Possibilities" Coproduction Plan co-organized by CICG and other institutions.
