CICG president meets with Pakistani delegation

On Aug. 17, Chang Bo, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), met with a visiting Pakistani delegation of media, university, and think tank representatives. Yu Yingfu, vice president of CICG, was also present at the meeting.

Chang said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties. The two countries have long maintained a high level of political mutual trust, achieved fruitful results in economic and trade cooperation, and fostered increasingly close people-to-people exchanges. The foundation of the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership has grown stronger, while its scope continues to expand.

Chang noted that CICG stands ready to work with Pakistani counterparts to deepen cooperation in media, publishing, think tank, and people-to-people exchanges, advance mutual translation of classic works — most notably the translation, publication, and distribution of key works in Urdu. These initiatives will strengthen people-to-people bonds, foster a high-level platform for dialogue, and jointly tell compelling stories of China-Pakistan friendship, he said.

Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, head of the Pakistani delegation and vice chancellor of Government College University Lahore, spoke highly of CICG's pivotal role in international communication, cultural exchanges, translation, and publishing. He voiced hope that media and think tank professionals of both sides can further harness their strengths to foster mutual public understanding and promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning, thus contributing to the vibrant development of China-Pakistan friendship in the future.
