CICG president meets with Egyptian government delegation

Chang Bo, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), met with Osama El Gohary, assistant to the prime minister of Egypt and chairman of the Egyptian Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), on July 20 to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in cultural communication, publishing, think tank, and people-to-people exchanges. 

Yu Yingfu, vice president of CICG, along with representatives from the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, the Center for Europe and Africa, and Foreign Languages Press under CICG also attended the meeting.

Chang briefed Gohary and his delegation on CICG's work in international communication, overseas publishing, people-to-people exchanges, and think tank research. 

He noted that this year marks the 70th anniversary of China-Egypt diplomatic ties. Over the past seven decades, the two countries have demonstrated through concrete actions the true meaning of standing together through thick and thin. 

Chang expressed gratitude to IDSC for its long-standing support for CICG, and called for deeper pragmatic cooperation across multiple areas. He suggested the two sides deepen collaboration in areas including promoting China's key ideas and theories in Egypt and other Arab nations, strengthening exchanges and cooperation between think tanks, expanding international communication cooperation, boosting people-to-people exchanges, and establishing and improving communication mechanisms.

Gohary spoke highly of CICG's key role in international communication and China-Arab cultural exchanges. He said that IDSC attaches great importance to in-depth cooperation with Chinese media and think tanks, and that it stands ready to expand areas of cooperation with CICG, so as to promote pragmatic cooperation and make new contributions to advancing China-Egypt relations.
