Xie noted that CIBTC's predecessor, the International Bookstore, represented the People's Republic of China at the Frankfurt Book Fair for the first time in 1956. In 2023, the Frankfurt Book Fair presented CIBTC with an honorary exhibitor certificate in recognition of its 50th participation in the fair, marking another milestone in bringing Chinese culture to international readers.

Boos commended CIBTC for its long-standing contribution to the global dissemination of Chinese culture through publishing. He said the Frankfurt Book Fair values its partnership with China's publishing community and looks forward to building closer ties with CIBTC and more Chinese publishing institutions to further strengthen international publishing exchange and cooperation.

The participants also exchanged views on changes in the global publishing market, emerging trends in publishing in the age of artificial intelligence, multi-platform approaches to cultural communication, international paper trade, the overseas expansion of Chinese cultural and creative products, and the role of industry media in promoting international publishing exchange.

After the meeting, the guests were given a tour of the International Bookstore, where they learned about the bookstore's history, current operations and future development plans. They also reviewed CIBTC's participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair since 1956.

Founded in 1949, the Frankfurt Book Fair is one of the world's largest and most influential publishing trade fairs.
