CICG president meets with UAE ambassador to China

Chang Bo, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), met with Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the UAE ambassador to China, and his delegation in Beijing on Thursday to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in culture, publishing, and education.

Chang said CICG is ready to work with the UAE Ministry of Culture and the UAE Embassy in China to deepen practical cooperation in areas including content production, publishing, youth exchanges, and think tank dialogue.

He said the two sides could jointly develop cultural communication initiatives, promote the Arabic translation and local publication of China-themed books, expand copyright and exhibition cooperation, and launch more programs in education and youth exchanges.

Al Hammadi spoke highly of CICG's important role in international communication and China-Arab cultural exchanges. He said that CICG, as an important window for China's international communication, has long made positive contributions to promoting mutual learning between Chinese and Arab civilizations and strengthening people-to-people friendship, thereby building a bridge for people in Arab countries to gain a deeper understanding of China.

Ali Bin Tamim, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, said the center values its cooperation with CICG and is willing to work with Chinese partners to promote the translation and publication of quality books, strengthen copyright trade and information sharing, and participate in major cultural events such as international book fairs. 

Following the meeting, the delegation attended a symposium hosted by CICG's Center for Europe and Africa on China-UAE cultural exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations.
