Chinese and English editions of 'China's Approach, Global Practice' launched in Beijing
On Saturday, the Book Launch and Seminar for the Chinese and English Editions of "China's Approach, Global Practice" took place at Peking University in Beijing. Yu Yunquan, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), attended the event and delivered a speech.
Jointly compiled and published by Foreign Languages Press and the Center for Europe and Africa, both under CICG, "China's Approach, Global Practice" features firsthand accounts from 42 alumni of Peking University's Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development (ISSCAD). Having returned to their home countries, they have localized China's development experience across their respective sectors. The book's publication marks a key accomplishment of the joint efforts by CICG and ISSCAD to share China's development experience globally.

Yu said in his speech that over a decade of steadfast efforts, ISSCAD has cultivated over 500 graduates from the Global South. "China's Approach, Global Practice" stands as a historical testament to the institute's growth and achievements. Firsthand narratives from its 42 alumni serve as vivid material demonstrating how China's developmental wisdom is linked to the Global South. These stories feature prominent shared traits: breakthroughs in conceptual understanding and self-awareness of developing nations, adaptive transplantation instead of blind copying of methodologies, systematic improvements in basic livelihoods, and enhanced governance resilience and institutional innovation, he said.
Quoting an ancient Chinese saying, "Those with shared aspirations never feel separated by mountains and seas," Yu stressed that the Global South has long been an important partner of CICG for its international communication endeavors. He said CICG is ready to further deepen collaboration with ISSCAD. Leveraging CICG's comprehensive international communication platform, the two sides can jointly build a repository of practical cases from the Global South, and bring more true and vivid South-South cooperation stories to global audiences.
