In his remarks, Chang said the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway is a flagship Belt and Road cooperation project between China and Indonesia. He described the railway as a hallmark of high-quality cooperation between the two countries. Since it began operations more than two years ago, the railway has carried more than 15 million passengers, becoming an important travel option for Indonesian people and a vivid example of mutually beneficial cooperation and people-to-people connectivity between China and Indonesia. Chang noted that the railway is not only a result of technology empowering development, but also a reflection of mutual learning between Chinese and Indonesian civilizations. He called for deeper bilateral exchanges and cooperation through a people-centered approach, stronger technical collaboration, and greater mutual learning between civilizations. This will help build broader public support for practical cooperation and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries, Chang said.

Oratmangun said the friendship story sharing event provided a meaningful platform. The accounts of those who experienced the project firsthand, he said, help strengthen emotional ties between the two peoples and offer a more human-centered understanding of bilateral cooperation and friendship. Behind every development figure are real people whose daily lives have been changed for the better, he noted. In the case of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, that change can be seen in shorter travel times for local communities, stronger regional economic growth, and greater international confidence in Indonesia's development, the ambassador said.

The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, he said, is a landmark achievement of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The railway connects cities and regions, while also bringing together Chinese and Indonesian builders and operators to work side by side, learn from each other, and create a living window for cultural exchange between the two countries.
