ACCWS co-hosts high-level roundtable in Shanghai

CICG, April 21, 2026

On April 19, the China-Europe-America Museums Cooperation Initiative 2026 High-Level Roundtable was held in Shanghai.

The event was co-hosted by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS) under China International Communications Group (CICG), along with the China-Europe-America Global Initiative and the Antiquities Coalition. Focusing on the role of cultural institutions in human development and exchanges between civilizations, participants engaged in extensive discussions.

Yu Yunquan, vice president of CICG, said at the event that CICG has a solid foundation of cooperation with the City of San Francisco. Through books as a bridge, the two sides have carried out practical cooperation efforts such as joint publishing, and cultural exchanges, setting a positive example of cultural dialogue and mutual learning between China and the United States.

He noted that at a time when China-U.S. relations are at an important stage, people-to-people and cultural exchanges are facing a key window of opportunity, and cultural institutions play an even more important role as bridges between the two sides. They should actively promote dialogue between civilizations, explore shared values, and help strengthen friendship between the peoples, he added.

Yu said CICG is ready to continue working with the San Francisco city government, the China-Europe-America Global Initiative, and other partners to deepen cooperation and further strengthen the foundation for cultural exchange and mutual understanding between China and the United States.
