Xie Gang, vice president of CICG, along with representatives from CICG's international cooperation department and affiliated institutions, also attended the meeting.
Chang noted that the Brazilian Embassy in China is a key partner of CICG and thanked it for supporting the overseas promotion of China-themed books and periodicals, the organization of China-Latin America and China-Brazil forums, as well as exchanges among think tanks, media outlets, and universities over the years.
He said both sides should continue to work together to deliver a high-quality China-Brazil Year of Culture in 2026, deepen cooperation in areas such as book translation, media and think tank exchanges, youth programs, international book fairs, and the development of overseas Chinese bookstores, and further expand people-to-people exchanges to boost broader cooperation and friendship between the two nations.
Xie briefed the delegation on CICG's work across various sectors, noting that several of its affiliated institutions maintain long-term partnerships with Brazilian cultural organizations. He said the visit would help deepen cooperation.

Galvao said Brazil and China share a long history of exchanges, and the agreement to hold the 2026 China-Brazil Year of Culture reflects the strong foundation of bilateral ties. In recent years, he said, cooperation in trade and technology has grown steadily, while cultural exchanges have strengthened mutual understanding and public interest in China among Brazilians. He expressed hope for deeper cooperation with CICG to further promote bilateral ties.
Following the meeting, the delegation attended a book launch hosted by Blossom Press, a publisher under CICG, for "The Brazilian People: The Formation and Meaning of Brazil."
