He spoke highly of author Darcy Ribeiro's profound academic insights and humanistic care, which have made the work a classic for understanding Brazil.
Xie further stressed the need to deepen mutual learning and strengthen the intellectual foundation for China-Brazil people-to-people exchanges through translated classics, stay open and inclusive to expand areas of cooperation, and strengthen practical cooperation to promote the integrated development of culture and technology. He noted that CICG will fully leverage its multilingual and multi-channel communication strengths, continue to deepen practical cooperation with Brazil's cultural, publishing, and academic communities, and contribute to building a China-Latin America community with a shared future.

He highlighted that Darcy Ribeiro — an outstanding social scientist who devoted himself to studying and interpreting Brazil — spent 30 years crafting this work to explore the fundamental question of why Brazil has yet to achieve its full potential. He invited Chinese readers to read "The Brazilian People" to observe and study Brazil firsthand and discover the true face of this proud nation.

Menezes said publishing the Chinese edition goes beyond translating the book; it builds a new bridge of dialogue between two countries with profound cultural heritage. She expressed hope that culture will continue to serve as a cohesive force for building a shared future between China and Brazil based on mutual respect.
