CICG president meets with Orchid Awards winner from Pakistan

Chang Bo, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), met with Zafar-Ud-Din Mahmood, a recipient of the Friendship Envoy Award of the second Orchid Awards, Pakistani prime minister's special representative on China, and chairman of the "Understanding China" Forum in Pakistan, in Beijing on Tuesday.

Chang thanked Mahmood for his long-standing support for CICG and the Orchid Awards. Noting that China and Pakistan are ironclad friends and all-weather strategic cooperative partners, Chang said both countries are important forces for safeguarding world peace, stability, and development. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties, he called for deepening people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning, including through joint commemorative events, to continuously cement the foundation for bilateral friendship.

Chang said he hopes that winners of the Orchid Awards can act as cultural bridges to attract more people of insight from all over the world to engage in cultural exchanges, continuing to build the Orchid Awards into a renowned international brand.

Mahmood expressed readiness to strengthen practical cooperation with CICG. He said he will continue to play an active role in people-to-people exchanges between the two countries as an Orchid Awards winner, enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples and jointly promoting the sound and steady development of the China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
