In his remarks, Yu said that the decades-long development of Xizang autonomous region represents not only an outstanding example of China's approach to modernization, but also a remarkable practice of achieving sustainable development in high-altitude regions under special geographical conditions.
What has been achieved in Xizang, he noted, cannot be measured by economic figures alone. It embodies a systematic and holistic endeavor in which material, cultural, social, and ecological advancements reinforce one another. Yu said Xizang's development path is one that protects its fragile ecosystems while advancing development, and preserves tradition while embracing modernization.
The photo exhibition provides a vivid and well-rounded view of a modern Xizang, going beyond long-standing stereotypes, he added.
Hoon Tai Meng, secretary of the Singapore China Friendship Association, said the exhibition offers people in Singapore a valuable opportunity to gain a more concrete understanding of Xizang's history and current development, while also experiencing its natural landscapes and cultural richness. He said he hopes that such cultural exchange activities will help bring the people of China and Singapore closer together and contribute to the continued development of bilateral relations and broader cooperation.
