CICG executive attends symposium on global maritime cooperation, governance
The 6th Symposium on Global Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance was held in Sanya, Hainan province, from Dec. 10 to 12. More than 300 participants from over 30 countries and regions attended the event, including experts and scholars, government officials, diplomats stationed in China, as well as representatives of international organizations and media institutions.

This year's symposium focused on key maritime issues including economic and trade cooperation, infrastructure development, ecological protection, and order in the South China Sea. Yu Yingfu, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), attended the opening ceremony and participated in discussions.
Speaking on the theme of building a stable and sustainable global ocean governance system, Yu emphasized the importance of deepening exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations in advancing global maritime cooperation and governance. He said greater emphasis should be placed on sharing representative case studies, enabling China's experience to contribute to global governance. He also called for expanding communication channels by transforming one-way communication into multilateral dialogue. Through joint efforts, he said, stakeholders can build broader consensus on maritime cooperation.
