Dialogue on international image communication of CPC held in Guangzhou
The Dialogue on the International Image Communication Innovation of the CPC (2025) was held on Sunday during the 2025 Understanding China Conference (Guangzhou), bringing together Chinese and international guests from government departments, universities, think tanks, cultural institutions, media outlets, and other fields.

At the dialogue, Yu Yingfu, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), shared his thoughts on how to tell the story of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to the world and present its image.
His reflections drew on several aspects, including China's historic achievements under the leadership of the CPC, the Party's distinctive strengths, and the opportunities and challenges that the rapid development of next-generation digital technologies poses for international communication.
He reiterated CICG's commitment to introducing the CPC's governance philosophy and the achievements of contemporary China to the global community, and its dedication to facilitating mutual learning and exchanges between China and the rest of the world.

Zafar Uddin Mahmood, former special assistant to the prime minister of Pakistan, said that to communicate the international image of the CPC, it is essential to convey the unique value of fine traditional Chinese culture, vividly tell real stories of poverty alleviation and improvements in people's livelihoods, and present in a multi-dimensional way the historic leaps and development achievements since reform and opening up.
He added that an objective comparison of governance philosophies between China and other countries can help highlight the practical wisdom of China's path and its relevance for global reference.

Hu Zhaoming, spokesperson of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and director general of the Bureau of Public Information and Communication of the IDCPC, said that in order to shape the CPC's international image more innovatively, it is important to properly handle the relationships between the Party's historical image and contemporary image, subjective image and objective image, macro image and micro image, and market forces and government forces.
