Undercurrents: September 18th Incident & the Origin of Asian Theater in the World War II
On Sept. 18, 1931, a long premeditated explosion at Liutiao Lake in Shenyang, northeast China, tore through the autumn night and shocked the world. In the wake of the September 18th Incident, the Chinese people rose in heroic resistance against Japanese aggressors across the land of Northeast China. This event marked the beginning of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and became the prelude to the global war against fascism.
