CICG executive attends 2025 Tianfu Book Fair

The 2025 Tianfu Book Fair kicked off on Oct. 17 in Chengdu, southwestern China's Sichuan province, under the annual theme "A Fragrant World of Books in Tianfu, Leisurely Reading in Sichuan."

Xie Gang, vice president of China International Communication Groups (CICG), attended the opening ceremony and presented letters of appointment to the reading ambassadors of the book fair.

On the same day, the 2025 Belt and Road Publishing Cooperation Symposium, one of the events of the book fair, was held in Chengdu.

In his address during the opening ceremony, Xie said that CICG plays an important role in international publishing cooperation, cultural exchanges, and social media communication. It has partnered with publishing institutions from 46 countries to establish 84 overseas editorial offices for China-themed books, and jointly produced more than 700 kinds of China-themed publications.

This year, China International Book Trading Corporation, an affiliate of CICG, once again made its appearance at the fair. Its exhibition area featured a wide selection of quality publications and distinctive cultural and creative products from around the world.

At the fair's main venue, the Chinese and English editions of "Medical Human Experiments Conducted by Imperial Japanese Army for Biological Warfare in China, 1932-1945" was officially launched following the opening ceremony.

The book reveals the history of the medical human experiments conducted by Japanese biological warfare units in China during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, providing support for related historical research and education.
