2025 Maritime Silk Road Chinese Media Development Forum held in Fuzhou

The 2025 Maritime Silk Road Chinese Media Development Forum was held in Fuzhou, Fujian province on Oct. 14, bringing together representatives from 56 Chinese-language media outlets across 28 countries and regions.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Xie Gang, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), said that Chinese-language media are expected to deepen exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations to contribute their strength to global governance. He also said, they are tasked with telling the story of Chinese modernization and making good use of technological empowerment to enhance their communication capacity and influence.

He added that telling the story of China's development and transformation in the new era in ways that resonate with international audiences is a historical mission entrusted to overseas Chinese-language media. 

CICG stands ready to work with Chinese-language media around the world to promote greater exchange and mutual learning, Xie said.
