During the forum, Du presented the "From Initiative to Practice: Report on China's Cultural Exchanges with the World (2024)" at a special session on key outcomes of the forum.
Du noted that cultural exchanges between China and other countries in 2024 achieved steady and high-quality progress, with Chinese and foreign cultures engaging in deeper interactions. Different civilizations embraced inclusiveness and mutual learning, contributing to the shared vision of "building a garden of world civilizations," he said.
The report, compiled by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies under CICG, draws on extensive research, data analysis, and expert input. It provides a systematic review of China's cultural exchanges with the world in 2024, covering areas such as strategic guidance, policy mechanisms, cultural activities, and heritage preservation, according to Du.

The report points out that cultural exchanges last year gained new vitality through the sharing of ideas and practices, fostering a multi-dimensional pattern of development that contributes to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
It also highlights that China’s vision of mutual learning among civilizations has charted the course for cultural exchanges. China-advocated Global initiatives and the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative have helped promote deeper dialogue among civilizations worldwide.
Looking ahead, the report anticipates cultural exchanges will grow in scale and diversify, with technologies like artificial intelligence and social media further enhancing its reach and impact.
