2025 Golden Panda International Cultural Forum held in Chengdu

The 2025 Golden Panda International Cultural Forum took place on Saturday in Chengdu, the capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province.

Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the event and announced its opening.

Du Zhanyuan, president of China International Communications Group (CICG); Chen Shi, deputy editor-in-chief of CICG and director of the China Center for International Communication Development; and Li Yafang, deputy editor-in-chief of CICG and president of the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, attended the forum and other related events.

The second Golden Panda Awards were also presented during the forum, honoring achievements in the fields of film, TV, documentary and animation under 27 categories.

Hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the provincial government of Sichuan, the forum gathered over 780 guests from home and abroad.

Participants noted that exchange and mutual learning are intrinsic requirements of civilization development, as well as key driving forces in the advancement of human progress and world peace.

The Global Governance Initiative, which was proposed by China at the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, was welcomed by forum participants, who said that it contributes Chinese wisdom and solutions to pressing global challenges, and to the development of a community with a shared future for humanity.

They also stressed the need to deepen international exchange and cooperation in the fields of education, culture, media, and science and technology to foster stronger cultural integration and closer bonds between peoples.
