The Writers' Castle: Reporting History at Nuremberg (Chinese edition)
In 1945, at Faber-Castell Castle in Nuremberg, Germany, the first international trial of war crimes in human history took place. The International Military Tribunal, formed by the U.S., the U.K., France, and the Soviet Union, brought the Nazi political and military leadership to justice. At the same time, 250 journalists and 11 photographers and cameramen from around the world gathered in the confiscated castle that had been converted into a press camp.
This book tells the stories of those reporters and writers, recounting the harsh conditions they faced, revealing how people confront violence and trauma, and exploring how participation in the trials shaped the course of their later lives.
The book is translated from German to Chinese and published by New Star Press.

The book is divided into two parts. The first part covers the trial of Class-B war criminal Hisao Tani, who commanded the invasion around Nanjing's Zhonghua Gate and unleashed a bloody catastrophe on the city's residents.
The second part focuses on the trials of Class-C war criminals, including Gunkichi Tanaka, who massacred more than 300 people, as well as Toshiaki Mukai and Tsuyoshi Noda, who notoriously engaged in a killing contest.
After fair and just proceedings, the Nanjing War Crimes Tribunal sentenced these criminals to death, and they were executed by firing squad at Yuhuatai in Nanjing.
