CGTN, July 24, 2025

The 2025 Inter-Civilizational Dialogue among SCO Countries opened Wednesday in north China's Tianjin municipality, bringing together over 300 participants from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to deepen mutual understanding, strengthen cultural exchanges and promote the building of a shared future.

Through a series of forums, thematic discussions, cultural heritage experiences and calligraphy exhibitions, delegates from SCO countries explored the richness of their civilizations and reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing people-to-people connectivity across the region.

The Dialogue also issued a report centering on civilizational dialogue and drawing on the digital cooperation practices among SCO nations. The report outlines the shared vision, practical foundations and strategic pathways for building a digital community of shared future.

Focusing on the convergence of digital civilization and Chinese modernization, the report articulates how SCO countries can jointly advance a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable global digital development framework. It offers Chinese insights and SCO wisdom for shaping a new form of human civilization in the digital era.

The event is co-hosted by China's State Council Information Office, China International Communications Group, and the SCO Secretariat.
