China International Communications Group (CICG) hosted an event at the 31st Beijing International Book Fair on Wednesday to present the latest outcomes of the International Publishing Cooperation Mechanism for China-Themed Books over the past year.

Established in August 2019, the mechanism promotes full-chain cooperation and exchange between Chinese and overseas publishers and now includes 18 Chinese and 38 international publishing houses. Over 700 China-themed books have been published and distributed overseas under the mechanism so far.

Yu Tao, vice president of CICG, said in a speech at the event that the mechanism has brought forth exemplary cooperation cases between Chinese and overseas publishers and created diverse pathways for Chinese culture to reach global audiences. He expressed hope that its members would step up cooperation in globally relevant topics under the Global Civilization Initiative, allowing more China-themed books to become a window into the nation's culture. He also emphasized leveraging the mechanism for lasting win-win partnerships and even more diverse publishing cooperation.
