China International Communications Group (CICG) is attending the 31st Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from Wednesday to Sunday.

CICG will showcase nearly 2,000 books. More than 70% of these books are in foreign languages such as English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Arabic, and Korean.

During the five-day fair, CICG will host 16 events, including book launches, copyright signing ceremonies, and dialogues, with over 40 international guests and executives from China's leading publishing groups expected to attend.

A signing ceremony of the book "China in Comics: Journey of Friendship to a Shared Future" was held Wednesday. In recent years, the Center for Asia-Pacific of CICG (CICG Asia-Pacific) has invited cartoonists from China, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, France, the United States, and other countries to create comics with themes such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative. These works will now be compiled into the book through a collaboration between CICG Asia-Pacific and Sichuan Literature and Art Publishing House.

CICG also hosted an event Wednesday to present the latest achievements of the International Publishing Cooperation Mechanism for China-Themed Books over the past year. Established in August 2019, the mechanism now includes 18 Chinese and 38 international publishing houses and promotes full-chain cooperation and exchange between Chinese and foreign publishers.

At another Wednesday event, multilingual editions of "Keywords to Understand China: Chinese Modernization" were launched. The book explores the theoretical framework, development and influence, roadmaps, and implementation of Chinese modernization. A copyright signing ceremony was held alongside the launch. Experts offered insights into the book's compilation, translation process, and its role in international communication.

On Thursday, the China-Latin America Publishing Cooperation Dialogue will bring together over 30 participants, including ambassadors from Latin American countries in China, publishing professionals, and experts and scholars, to discuss achievements and prospects for cooperation.

Another event on the same day will launch new volumes of "The Ambassador's Collection." The series introduce international audiences to various aspects of Chinese culture, including martial arts, cuisine, painting, and calligraphy.
