The China Today-Jingdezhen Salon officially opened on Saturday in Jingdezhen, the world-famous porcelain capital in eastern China's Jiangxi province.

The salon is a new cultural exchange platform jointly established by the Center for Europe and Africa, an affiliate to China International Communications Group (CICG), and local authorities.

The platform's opening also coincided with the launch of the 2024 World Tour of Chinese Ceramic Intangible Cultural Heritage, bringing together over 100 guests, including government officials, diplomats, artists, business leaders, and international youth representatives.

As part of CICG's efforts to help Jingdezhen expand its global reach and engage in international cultural exchange, this initiative will further promote Jingdezhen and its ceramic heritage on the world stage, and allow people around the world to have a deeper understanding of Jiangxi province and Jingdezhen, he said.

The city is fully committed to enhancing the international influence of Jingdezhen, known as the "millennium porcelain capital," and it aims to transform the salon into a platform for foreigners seeking to learn about Chinese culture and for sharing Chinese stories, Zhang said.

A subsequent symposium was held at the newly unveiled salon, bringing together representatives from the art, academic, media, and business circles as well as international youth representatives to discuss topics such as cultural exchange, digital culture, and the role of youths in promoting Chinese culture.

The event was guided by CICG and the Publicity Department of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, and hosted by the CICG Center for Europe and Africa and the CPC Jingdezhen Municipal Committee.
