2024 Erhai Forum on Global Ecological Civilization Construction held in Dali, Yunnan
The 2024 Erhai Forum on Global Ecological Civilization Construction, themed on "Working Together to Promote Eco-friendly Modernization," was held in Dali, southwestern China's Yunnan province.
Jointly organized by China International Communications Group (CICG), the People's Government of Yunnan Province, and China Public Relations Association (CPRA), the annual forum has served as an important platform for exchange in the field of ecological civilization construction since its inauguration in 2021.

At the forum, Du Zhanyuan, president of CICG, said that the construction of ecological civilization matters to the modernization processes of countries around the world and the sustainable development of human civilization. He said that CICG is willing to cooperate with insightful individuals and relevant organizations from China and abroad, so as to deepen exchange and mutual learning in global ecological civilization construction, and thus add new momentum to eco-friendly modernization.

Guo Weimin, head of CPRA, said that CPRA is eager to collaborate with partners to build communication platforms and unite efforts from all parties to make greater contributions to building a beautiful China, a clean and beautiful world, and a community of a shared future for mankind.
Four parallel sub-forums were held with the topics of ecological protection and sustainable development of Erhai Lake, green development and industrial chain of agriculture, harmony between humanity and nature, and high-quality development of enterprises driven by green and low-carbon transformation.

The forum launched the Global Corporate (Erhai) Initiative on Green, Low-Carbon and Sustainable Development, which focused on themes including enterprises, urban areas, and the ocean.
On Sept. 24, the 2024 Erhai forum on ecological civilization and biodiversity, a side event of the forum was held in Geneva, Switzerland, aiming to establish a specialized, regional platform for promoting ecological civilization construction in China and Europe and facilitate practical cooperation between both the two parties. It marked the first time that the forum was held abroad.

The Erhai Forum on Global Ecological Civilization Construction was a supporting event of the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity.
