Experts and scholars from U.S. and Chinese think tanks and universities held in-depth discussions on various topics such as enhancing youth dialogue and promoting people-to-people exchange between the two countries.

Yu Yunquan, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG) and president of the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS), delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

He said that over the past 45 years of China-U.S. diplomatic relations, people-to-people exchange has consistently served as a force driving the stable development of bilateral ties.

He pointed out that CICG values youth exchange between the two countries. He said he hopes the ACCWS and the Carter Center will continue to explore communication mechanisms, build dialogue platforms, and facilitate face-to-face discussions.

Yu further emphasized the importance of engaging young people as ambassadors for China-U.S. relations and promoting innovative ways to foster mutual understanding and cooperation.

The event was jointly organized by the ACCWS and the Carter Center.
