Yu noted that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), now in its 11th year, has become a key platform for promoting global cooperation and development. In the face of increasingly complex international landscape, international think tanks focused on the BRI should conduct solid research to provide intellectual support for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Yu also emphasized the need to focus on specific regions and countries by establishing communication platforms for international think tanks to strengthen cooperation. Through on-the-ground research and joint studies, these platforms can better meet the unique and diverse needs of partner countries, he said.
Additionally, Yu highlighted the importance of expanding youth engagement, harnessing the insights of young people from China and abroad on BRI development and green sustainable development.
CICG will continue to make efforts in areas such as information sharing, translation and publishing, think tank dialogues, and international exchanges, in order to deepen cooperation among international think tanks, and jointly map out a blueprint for high-quality BRI development, Yu said.

The event also featured the 2024 Council Meeting of the Belt and Road Studies Network, a seminar on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, a dialogue between media representatives from Belt and Road countries, as well as cultural exchange activities and tours of Xi'an.
The Belt and Road Studies Network was launched in 2019 by the Xinhua Institute and 15 domestic and international think tanks. The Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies under CICG is a member of the network.
