In his speech, Du highlighted the long-standing and deep-rooted history of exchange between China and Europe, and noted that interactions between China and Europe in various fields have become increasingly frequent in recent years.

With strong economic ties and deeply intertwined supply chains, industrial chains, and value chains, China and Europe should work together to promote the positive use of technology, facilitate knowledge sharing between scientists and entrepreneurs, strengthen economic and trade cooperation, and encourage cultural exchange and mutual learning, particularly among the younger generations, Du said.

Du said CICG aims to work closely with Chinese and international organizations and like-minded individuals to contribute wisdom and strength to the development of China-Europe relations.

The 2024 China-Europe Talent Forum aimed to implement key agreements reached by Chinese and European leaders, deepen talent exchange and cooperation, and promote the stable and healthy development of China-Europe relations.

The Center for Europe and Africa (China Today magazine), a subsidiary under CICG, hosted the sub-forum on cultural themes and published a special edition for the event. David Ferguson, honorary editor-in-chief of Foreign Languages Press, participated in a roundtable discussion at the main forum. Additionally, the New World Press, another CICG subsidiary, was responsible for the compilation and publication of the "2024 Global City Talent Retention Index," which was released at the main forum.
