CICG releases Report on China's Cultural Exchanges with the World (2023)

China International Communications Group (CICG) released the Report on China's Cultural Exchanges with the World (2023) at the 2024 Beijing Culture Forum on Sept. 19. Du Zhanyuan, president of CICG, presented the report at the opening ceremony.

Du said that the report highlights China's new progress and achievements in cultural exchange with the world, while also exploring its future characteristics and trends. The report aims to promote greater cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and other countries.

Based on publicly available information, the report finds that China's cultural exchange in 2023 showed a strong recovery. Not only was the scale of exchange approaching pre-pandemic levels, but the ways of exchange became more diverse, the formats more innovative, and the dialogues deeper. Cultural exchange entered a new track of high-quality development last year, the report says.

The report shows that cultural exchange between China and the world in 2023 generated notable results in various fields, including communication, cultural industries, education, technology, tourism, and sports. Besides, new characteristics and trends in themes, methods, participants, carriers, and platforms were seen during this process.

The 2024 Beijing Culture Forum was co-organized by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and the Beijing municipal government. During the forum, over 800 participants from around the world gathered in Beijing, engaging in in-depth exchange and dialogue.
