On Aug. 24, a story-sharing event was held in Luang Prabang, Laos. In a video address, Yu Tao, vice president of CICG, emphasized the deep and enduring relationship between China and ASEAN as good neighbors, friends, and partners on the path to modernization and high-quality development.
He highlighted the long-standing cooperation between Chinese enterprises and ASEAN countries in areas such as infrastructure, technological innovation, and green development, which has yielded significant results.
Yu noted that China Southern Power Grid, a representative of Chinese enterprises in ASEAN, has played a crucial role in advancing the interconnectivity of power grids in the Lancang-Mekong region, promoting coordinated economic, social, and environmental development, and fostering cultural exchange activities that bring people closer.
He expressed hope that activities like the tour would help create new cultural exchange opportunities, expand areas of cooperation, and contribute to the development of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
During its trip, the media delegation visited a substation in Luang Prabang, as well as a power investment company and a hydropower station in Vietnam. At each location, delegates learned how projects contracted and invested by Chinese enterprises have contributed to local economic development, improved people's livelihoods, and built friendship between China and the two countries.
Over 20 participants took part in this event, including journalists from media outlets of China, Laos, and Vietnam, scholars from the National University of Laos, and content creators from China, Laos, Vietnam, the U.K., and Canada.
