Seminar on China-Indonesia exchange held in Jakarta

The "Reading China" Seminar on China-Indonesia Knowledge Sharing and Exchange was held on Saturday in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, attracting more than 30 representatives from Indonesian think tanks, colleges, and media outlets.

Yu Tao, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), said that China and Indonesia, as close neighbors and development partners, are committed to mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. He noted that this partnership has delivered tangible benefits to the people of the two countries, and China looks forward to working with Indonesia and other countries to share vast opportunities brought by Chinese modernization.
CICG will leverage its comprehensive strengths to collaborate with Indonesia on think tank research, book publication, and media communication, enabling more Indonesians to understand China's development, culture, and commitment to peace, Yu added.

Murni Djamal, former vice president of University Al-Azhar Indonesia and vice-president of Al-Azhar's Confucius Institute, said that CICG's event taps into the growing interest within Indonesian society for Chinese language education and communication with China. The Confucius Institute is ready to work with various parties to organize knowledge-sharing events in Indonesia, contributing to people-to-people exchanges, cooperation, and mutual understanding between China and Indonesia, he said.
The "Reading China" series is an important cultural exchange and dialogue initiative launched by CICG. Events have been held in Madrid, Spain; Samarkand, Uzbekistan; and Cairo, Egypt.
