Center for translation, production launched in Changsha

The Malanshan Center for Translation and Production was launched in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan province, on July 30. The center aims to integrate culture and technology to enhance international communication and promote Chinese culture globally.

The center was co-sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Hunan Provincial Committee, China International Communications Group (CICG), iFLYTECK, and Hunan Normal University. Over 150 guests from sectors like international communication, film translation and production, overseas publishing, and technology development attended the launch ceremony.

During his speech, Du Zhanyuan, president of CICG, emphasized the importance of using modern information technology as a new platform for cultural development. He described the new center as a collaborative initiative to meet national strategic needs, with a focus on innovation in content translation and international communication.

Yang Haodong, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, said the establishment of the center is a strategic move to blend culture with technology as well as a means of promoting local and national cooperation in technological innovation. He hopes the center will attract more market players and boost China's cultural influence abroad.

Yu Jidong, senior vice president of iFLYTEK, shared plans to develop a multi-modal, multilingual translation platform to strengthen Hunan's cultural industry and boost its broadcasting and publishing brand.

Jiang Hongxin, Party secretary of Hunan Normal University, said the university is committed to fostering more professionals for international communication and contributing high-quality translation works and services to China's modernization efforts.

The event also witnessed the signing of the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement of Malanshan Center for Translation and Production" and the "Memorandum of Understanding on Key Project Cooperation of Malanshan Center for Translation and Production," aiming to leverage resources and capacities of various stakeholders to promote the development of the center and advance international communication.
