CICG president meets attendees of 2024 ASEAN-China Media Cooperation Forum

Du expressed his appreciation for the long-time support from various parties of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for the media cooperation forum. He highlighted a series of cooperative achievements between CICG and ASEAN countries, emphasizing that media cooperation is a significant force in strengthening cultural exchange and enhancing mutual trust.
Du said that CICG will further deepen cooperation with ASEAN countries in the areas of culture, economy, and trade by exploring various methods and establishing broader communication platforms.
Shi Zhongjun, secretary-general of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), said that media plays a crucial role in enhancing bilateral relations, and noted that the forum is conducive to promoting the comprehensive development of relations between China and ASEAN countries.

Phosy Keomanyvong, deputy minister of information, culture, and tourism of Laos, spoke highly of the forum, noting that it serves not only as a platform to deepen mutual understanding but also as an opportunity for enhancing media cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.
Has Sam Ath, undersecretary of state of the Ministry of Information of Cambodia, said that media outlets from Cambodia and China have established sound partnerships in technology exchange and information dissemination. He expressed his expectation that the forum, as an important bridge for closer bilateral relations, would be held in ASEAN countries in the future so that its expanding influence will help to drive joint development of the media from the two sides.
Co-organized by CICG, ACC, and the Dezhou Municipal People's Government, the 2024 ASEAN-China Media Cooperation Forum was held in Dezhou on June 21, attracting over 150 guests from government institutions, media agencies, think tanks, and international organizations.
