CICG to attend 30th Beijing International Book Fair
China International Communications Group (CICG) will attend the 30th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) at the China National Convention Center in Beijing's Chaoyang district from June 19 to 23.
Seven publishing houses under CICG will showcase nearly 3,900 books during the event. More than 60% of these books are in foreign languages, including English, French, Spanish, Japanese, covering diverse fields such as traditional Chinese culture, literature, history, and children's books.
Notably, the five-day fair will feature nearly 20 activities organized by CICG, including book launches, deal signings, forums, and dialogues.
For example, an event highlighting a series of internationally co-published books is scheduled for June 19. During this event, two domestic publishing houses and three overseas ones will officially announce their memberships in the international cooperative publishing mechanism initiated by CICG.
Since its inception in 2019, this mechanism has established a robust network in the global publishing sector, fostering significant exchanges among industry peers.
In addition, the Center for Europe and Africa under CICG will host a themed salon on China's relations with Gulf Arab states in the new era on June 20.
The event will feature discussions on several topics, including the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and the United Arab Emirates, as well as cooperation in trade, culture, and media between China and Gulf Arab states.
A book series centering on the theme of "Chinese Discourse" will be launched during the book fair on June 20.
The book series, published in nine languages, including Chinese, English, and French, aims to provide deep dives into various topics related to China, such as the Chinese path to modernization, new quality productive forces, and the Global Development Initiative. The goal is to enhance mutual understanding between China and the global community.
