International communication collaboration conference held in Xiamen

The 2024 International Communication Collaboration Conference was held in Xiamen, Fujian province, on Friday. 

The event was hosted by China International Communications Group (CICG) and the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Fujian Provincial Committee. It brought together officials of publicity departments from around the country, representatives of universities, think tanks and enterprises, as well as senior executives of CICG-affiliated units to discuss ways to improve efficiency and collaborations of international communication.

Du Zhanyuan, president of CICG, said that 2023 marked a year of remarkable success in collaborative international communication, featuring the broadest reach, most intense efforts, and richest achievements in recent years.

Du emphasized the imperative to strengthen more targeted communication efforts, which include extending the global outreach of Chinese culture, creating high-quality international communication projects, and enhancing the efficiency of the strategic communication system.

CICG will proactively study and meet various international communication needs, making new and greater contributions to promoting international communication breakthroughs and fostering cultural exchanges in the new era, Du said.

The conference also featured awards ceremony for top 10 outstanding cases and nomination awards in international communication in 2023.

During the conference, CICG and its affiliated agencies signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Publicity Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Renmin University of China, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Heilongjiang University, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture People's Government of Yunnan province, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, the Publicity Department of the CPC Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture Committee, the Research School for Southeast Asian Studies of Xiamen University, Art Exhibitions China, Shandong International Communication Center, iCity Hong Kong - Macao Investment and Development Company Limited, and the Beijing branch of the Bank of China, among others.
