On the opening day of the book fair, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE Zhang Yiming toured the CICG booth and the "China Today Intangible Cultural Heritage Pavilion," accompanied by Du Zhanyuan, president of CICG. Zhang learned about CICG's multilingual publication and international promotion of the works of Chinese President Xi Jinping. He also explored CICG's other key publications, including the "Biographies of Silk Road Cities", "Keywords to Understand China," and "Understanding China" book series.
During the book fair, CICG hosted a promotional event for the Arabic version of "Xi Jinping on the Belt and Road Initiative." Du said the book has collected President Xi's important articles on the Belt and Road construction, vividly and accurately recording the development, connotation and implementation path of the initiative.
In addition, six Arab publishers signed strategic cooperation agreements with the China-Arab Cultural Publishing Center of CICG. The center aims to conduct extensive and diverse communication and cooperation on culture and publication with Arab publishers, and promote mutual learning between the Chinese and Arab civilizations.
Meanwhile, a dialogue was held for young Chinese and Egyptian writers, and the Arabic version of "No. 9 Knight Street" detective book series was released at the event.
Held from April 29 to May 5 this year, the ADIBF is one of the most influential book fairs in the Middle East.
