Book sharing event on 'Xi Jinping: The Governance of China' held in Argentina

A book sharing and exchange event on the Spanish edition of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Monday. Yu Tao, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), attended and addressed the event.

Around 50 people attended the event, including representatives of government departments, academia, and cultural circles from both China and Argentina.

During his speech, Yu said that "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" provides international readers with insight into Chinese modernization. The book explains how the Communist Party of China (CPC) pioneered a unique Chinese path toward modernization that is deeply rooted in its civilization, providing inspirations for developing countries to achieve modernization, he said.

Wang Wei, Chinese ambassador to Argentina, said China-Argentina cooperation enjoys a solid foundation and the people of the two countries have strong enthusiasm for exchanges. He said he hopes more Argentine readers can better understand China by reading this book series, which will contribute to stronger people-to-people ties and friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Sabino Vaca Narvaja, former ambassador of Argentina to China, praised the book series, adding that the Spanish edition will allow people in Argentina to better understand China and strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

Juan Manuel Pampín, president of the Argentine Chamber of Books, said that readers can delve into the concepts and trajectories of China’s future development through the book series. He said that the association is committed to close collaborations with its Chinese counterparts to promote the international communication of China’s ideas and practices across all Spanish-speaking countries.

During the event, Yu and Wang presented the Spanish edition of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" to Argentine guests.

The event was co-hosted by Foreign Languages Press and the Center for the Americas under CICG as well as the Confucius Institute at the University of Buenos Aires.
