About 300 people attended the event, including domestic and international cultural experts and media representatives, government officials, as well as representatives from Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Nicaragua, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand and Bulgaria.

According to forum participants, peonies embody traditional Chinese culture and philosophy and demonstrate a harmony between humanity and nature, playing a crucial role in advancing global exchange of Chinese culture. Through communication efforts based on these ideas symbolized by peonies, the forum was held to enhance global understanding of China.

The forum featured roundtable discussions on topics such as international communication, digital media, and preservation of traditional culture. Moreover, the forum also had a session promoting peony culture projects in Malacca, Malaysia as well as Bulgaria.

The forum was jointly organized by the Center for International Cultural Communication under China International Communications Group and the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Heze Municipal Committee.
