CICG president meets CPPCC standing committee member, leader of XISU

Du Zhanyuan, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), met with Hu Sishe, a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and Bai Li, Party secretary of Xi'an International Studies University (XISU), on Wednesday in Beijing. They discussed talent cultivation in the translation industry.

Du introduced CICG's efforts in promoting Chinese culture globally and fostering cultural exchange among civilizations. He said that it is necessary to cultivate a skilled workforce to push for the development of international communication.

CICG will deepen cooperation with XISU in international communication and talent cultivation, Du said.

Hu said that CICG has played an active role in enhancing the global influence of Chinese culture and facilitating cultural exchange. Translation is of unique significance in promoting mutual learning among different civilizations, he said.

Bai introduced the latest development and achievement of XISU in training translation professionals. He said that XISU hopes to jointly cultivate talent in international communication with CICG to strengthen the country's capabilities in this area.
