Wuyuan launches city biography

Wuyuan county in southeastern China's Jiangxi province, known for its beautiful rural landscape, launched its city biography published by Foreign Languages Press under China International Communications Group (CICG) on Thursday. The book introduces readers to the rich history and vibrant culture of what is often hailed as "China's most beautiful countryside."

Speaking at the ceremony, Lu Cairong, vice president of CICG, said "Wuyuan: The Biography" marks the inaugural installment in the "Chinese City Biography" series by CICG, following the organization's flagship "Biographies of Silk Road Cities" series. 

Lu said CICG will continue to leverage its strength in international communication and cultural exchange in order to share the stories of Wuyuan and other remarkable Chinese cities with the world.

Authored by Wuyuan natives He Kuang, He Yuzhao, and Hong Zhongpei, "Wuyuan: The Biography" depicts the region's rich history and cultural legacy, portraying its development and rural revitalization through engaging historical narratives and personal insights.

He Kuang, speaking on behalf of the trio, delved into their creative journey during the book launch, describing the book as a heartfelt tribute to their birthplace. He said their approach of combining historical accuracy with literary techniques aims to deliver a compelling account of Wuyuan's past and present.
