CICG delegation visits Qatar to strengthen cultural ties
A delegation from China International Communications Group (CICG) visited Qatar from March 6 to 8 to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries. The delegation was led by CICG Vice President Lu Cairong.

On March 6, the CICG delegation paid a visit to the Chinese Embassy in Qatar and met with Ambassador Cao Xiaolin. Lu introduced the international communication efforts of CICG, and said the organization is ready to foster more cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Qatar. Cao emphasized the rapid development of China-Qatar relations in various sectors since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1988, and highlighted the importance of media and think tank collaborations for enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations.

On the same day, the delegation visited various institutions including Qatar's Ministry of Culture, with whom it reached cooperation agreements on translation, publishing, distribution, and communication.

On March 7, the delegation met with Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim bin Faisal Al-Thani, chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association and a prominent cultural figure in Qatar, and presented him with the Arabic edition of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China."
The delegation concluded its visit on March 8 by holding discussions with representatives of Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press and Qatar University Press.
