CICG delegation visits Bulgaria to enhance ties
A delegation from China International Communications Group (CICG) led by its vice president Lu Cairong visited Bulgaria from March 3 to 5, in a bid to strengthen cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

On March 3, the delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, where Lu held discussions with Charge d'Affaires Wang Min. In the meeting, Lu expressed a desire to collaborate closely with the embassy to enhance people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between China and Bulgaria.

The delegation paid a visit to the Confucius Institute in Sofia on March 4. Lu said that CICG will continue to strengthen cooperation with the institute in areas such as teaching Chinese as a foreign language, cultural communication, and exchange visits. Directors from both the Chinese and Bulgarian sides of the Confucius Institute expressed their hope to leverage the advantages of CICG in cultural communication and book publishing to meet the growing desire among Bulgarians to study Chinese and learn about China.

Also on March 4, the delegation engaged in discussions with representatives from Bulgaria's Iztok-Zapad (East-West) Publishers, which joined CICG's subsidiary Foreign Languages Press to translate and publish the Bulgarian edition of the first volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China."
On the final day of their visit, the delegation explored the Chinese Cultural Center in Sofia, discussing the center's role in promoting Sino-Bulgarian cultural exchange and planned future collaborations.
