Seminar held to boost dialogue between China and Qatar on governance

A seminar on China-Qatar relations was held Thursday in Doha, Qatar, gathering guests from the fields of culture, publishing, media, and think tanks from both sides to explore ways to boost exchange and mutual learning on governance.

The event was hosted by China International Communications Group (CICG) and jointly organized by Foreign Languages Press and the Center for Europe and Africa under CICG.

At the event, Lu Cairong, vice president of CICG, said that in the quest for modernization, China and Qatar have each forged their own unique paths of governance and development, tailored to their distinct national conditions. He said that CICG is willing to strengthen exchange, deepen cooperation, and seek development opportunities with its industrial peers in Qatar. He also called for concerted efforts to push forward the building of the Belt and Road Initiative and a community with a shared future for mankind. In addition, Lu offered suggestions on promoting cooperation in publishing, media, and cultural exchange.

Bashar Shabaro, executive director of Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, highlighted the significant progress in the strategic partnership between the two nations. He also expressed hope for deeper collaboration with Chinese counterparts in cultural and publishing fields, further strengthening exchange and mutual learning among civilizations.
