CICG attends 36th Beijing Book Fair

The 36th Beijing Book Fair opened at the China International Exhibition Center in the city's Chaoyang district on Thursday and will run through Saturday.

Seven publishing houses under China International Communications Group (CICG) has brought to the event more than 2,100 books of over 30 languages, including books by China's leaders, teaching materials, classic literature, and children's books.

On the opening day, Zhang Jianchun, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited CICG's exhibition area and learned about its work on presenting publications of Chinese civilization to the world and international cooperation efforts on publishing.

A total of 12 events are scheduled to be held during the fair, including book launches and book sharing events.

The English version of the book "Once Upon a Time in Zhaojin" was launched on Thursday. The book tells the little-known and thrilling stories of the old generation of revolutionaries in establishing revolutionary bases in Shaanxi province.

Dolphin Books hosted an immersive Peking Opera experience event on the same day, giving participants a chance to enjoy live performances, learn about the history of Chinese operas, and experience the Chinese national treasure firsthand.
