Liu Dawei, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), delivered a speech at the event. Liu said that the first national symposium on Esperanto was of great significance as it clarified the requirements for promoting Esperanto and cultivating Esperanto professionals and indicated the direction for the future work regarding Esperanto.

Liu noted that China has achieved great progress in Esperanto over the past six decades, effectively promoting the use of the international language across the country.

He also gave high praise to the role of Esperanto experts in promoting international communication and facilitating cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world.

Tan Xiuzhu, who was among the earliest students of Esperanto since the first national symposium, reflected on her experiences of using this language to carry out international communication at the event.

She said that it was a great honor to devote herself into the work of Esperanto, and she called for a bigger role of the language in supporting the building of a global community of shared future.
