A forum on internet literature, a new medium of cross-cultural communication, was held in Lingshui, a county in southern China's Hainan province, on Wednesday.

Lu Cairong, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), delivered a keynote speech at the event, highlighting the role of internet literature in sharing China's stories and enhancing the country's international communication capacity.

He urged relevant parties to keep up with international communication trends and explore new methods to connect with global audiences. Lu called for stronger cooperation in international publishing and research and encouraged more overseas writers and experts to join the dialogue.

Lu also stressed the need to improve the export methods for internet literature copyright and increase the translation and promotion of such literature.

He noted that CICG has closely cooperated with local departments in Hainan to create exchange platforms, promote copyright awareness, assist in translation and publishing, and establish a network of internet literature writers.

Lu said that CICG will build on the strength of Chinese literature, utilize its global network of Chinese library centers, and expand the global influence of internet literature. This effort, he said, is key to playing a larger role in promoting cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
