2nd China-Jordan Friendship Dialogue highlights youth role in bilateral ties

The second China-Jordan Friendship Dialogue was held in Beijing on Wednesday, focusing on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and youth engagement. Officials and ambassadors from both countries attended the event, along with over 200 young representatives from China, Jordan, Sudan and Egypt.

Liu Dawei, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), an organizer of the event, delivered a speech. He emphasized China and Jordan's extensive history and rich cultures, noting their close partnership in the BRI. He said that the youth of both nations are at the vanguard of enhancing cultural exchanges and promoting mutual understanding between the two countries.

Hussam Al Husseini, Jordan's ambassador to China, reflected on the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding on jointly promoting the construction of the Belt and Road between China and Jordan. He said it demonstrates the profound friendship between the two countries. He also mentioned that the youth of both nations are playing an increasingly significant role in various fields, from bilateral trade to cultural cooperation.

During the poetry sharing session, young representatives from China and Jordan took turns reading famous poems from each other's countries, followed by a discussion on poetry and literature in China and Jordan led by an eminent scholar and a poet from China.

In addition, young representatives from both countries shared their experiences and suggestions on cultural, educational, medical, economic and trade cooperation during a roundtable session.
